About

Samantha Vinnell (b. 1967, Clacton- On- Sea, Essex, UK) based in Colchester Essex.


Worked in the entertainment industry for 10 years, and the automotive industry for 30 years. Has two grown up daughters. Returned to education as a mature student at Colchester School of Art-University Centre Colchester in 2021.


An emerging British artist with developing themes on:
Female Adaption, Female Recognition & Female Safety.
A feminist and contemporary multi-disciplinary artist, working with sculpture, installations, printing, etching, video and performance art. 


Inspired and influenced by wide-ranging artists, including Marina Abramovic, Miwa Yanagi, Cornelia Parker, Maggi Hambling, Curtis Holder, Judy Chicago, Edgar Degas, Francis Bacon Louise Bourgeois and Lee Krasner.
Passionate about exploring alternative methods of communication within the subject-specific areas of interests.

Samantha gained a BA Fine Art degree from UCC, University Centre Colchester, Essex in 2024. With a previous career in theatre and film followed by 30 years in the automotive industry, this diversity has informed and influenced the concepts and range of mediums employed by the artist.
